Arbsorbacide food grade?

Hi there,

I was after a food grade diatomaceous earth product suitable for human consumption. I went to city livestock in WA and the shop owner told me that your absorbacide was food grade and that numerous other customers bought it for human consumption. Now I went onto your website and can't seem to find any info indicating it's safe for human consumption. Can you please let me know if it is or not?

Thanks

Absorbacide Food Grade?

Hi Jasmina, sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. This is a new web site and there was a bug in the system which meant that I wasn't notified there was a new posting...well our very first outside posting so thanks for that!

To answer your question, while we are aware that a number of individuals have happily been personally consuming our Absorbacide for some time, we can't actually endorse that use. There is nothing intrinsic about diatomite that is harmful to human health. Even though our diatomite is as far as we are aware, the purest available in Australia and perhaps elsewhere, because we don't have specially approved equipment  required for processing and packaging for human consumption, we can't take any responsibility should there be any issues of bacterial or viral contamination.

We could sell our diatomite uinto this market niche but the costs and risks are, at this stage, probably not worth our while.

I can tell you that our diatomite will soon be appearing around Australia in a form and packaging specifically designed for human consumption. It won't be under our brand name though. Watch out for it.
